We missed our 3rd annual Memorial Day party this year because we were out of town, so we decided to make up for it with an Independence Day shindig! Even though it was 100 degrees with sky high humidity, we partied in the backyard anyway!
The deck was dressed for the occasion with flag bunting, garland and string lights.
The backyard had seating for the party with colorful sparkly centerpieces and white linens.
I am a bad blogger and I forgot to take close-up shots of the cute centerpieces. It was a sparkly spray anchored with a weight in the bottom from Joann’s that I put inside these cute white ceramic tealight holders with star cutouts! They are made by Tiki and I found them in the citronella candle aisle. The other centerpiece was a ruffly wreath I made with crepe paper streamer flowers. :)
There was more bunting on the fence and flags along the steps.
Another shot of the garland I made with red, white and blue fabrics.
Drinks on the new patio (big reveal post coming soon!) on our little shutter turned potting bench.
The master of the grill cooking up some burgers, hot dogs, and brats.
The buffet was on the lower deck and included hamburgers, hot dogs, brats with sweet and sour peppers, potato salad, baked beans, pasta salad, green beans, chips, salsa, veggies and fruit salad.
The fruit salad was my favorite thing… it was so pretty and colorful! And tasty, too. :)
After dinner we played cornhole on the boards that Papa built us. It was sweaty fun…
Hope you had a fantastic fourth!
