A Sunflower Bridal Shower

My sister-in-law Laura is getting married in November, so this past weekend we hosted a little bridal shower for her.  The theme was sunflowers and all things country chic.  I decorated with white doilies, yellow sunflowers and a few rustic touches.

The yellow pom poms are from Hobby Lobby and the eyelet lanterns are from my sister's wedding decorations nine years ago!!  I bought 6" paper doilies on Amazon and sewed them into a garland for the living room, dining room and kitchen.  It was my favorite part of the decor!

For the flowers, my mom picked up three of these antique blue Ball jars for me at a local antique store.  They were the highlight of the decor.  The sunflowers I bought and the rest of the flowers are from the yard.  Purple liriope, yellow goldenrod and grass seedheads make a lovely wildflower combination.  I displayed a photo of the bride and groom in this frame, also from Hobby Lobby. :)

On the table I used some of the bride's grandmother's doilies for the table runner.  I had only one hydrangea bloom this year and it made its debut just in time for the party.

We had a lovely early dinner including Hawaiian pulled pork sliders, pigs in a blanket, cheese ball, deviled eggs, fruit, and a pasta salad.  We had tea and lemonade to drink but somehow I forgot to photograph the drink table.

I made this lovely sunflower wreath for the dining room mirror with yellow and blue flowers and burlap ribbon.

In the kitchen, I arranged the cupcakes and sweet breads under my Bakery sign.  How appropriate!  I used black-eyed Susans and more wildflowers for the vases in here.  Love is sweet!

I made these sunflower cupcakes based on some I found on Pinterest.  There is a mini Oreo cookie in the center of each flower. :)  They were the hit of the party!

We all had a great time celebrating the bride-to-be!  Congratulations Laura and Brian! 💕

Thanks for stopping by!  Hopefully I will be back soon with a few house updates. :) Stay tuned!
